Comments for Natalia Steward and her article "From Moscow with love"

John (England, Kent)

Hi,

I like the whole effect of this article. I think many British will be interested to read it and others like it.
People are intrigued by Russia. They will enjoy reading such genuine authentic articles.
This one gives the impression she knows what she is talking about and from an ordinary person's point of view.'
Where else can we read such articles?
When do we have such an opportunity to communicate with ordinary Russians?
How are we to know unless someone with integrity tells us?
With such photographs we can at least envisage better how Russians live.
You mean Russians drive the same cars, travel in trams, go shopping, just like us? Wow!
I think your site could catch a trend which maybe is not yet realised.
This football match in Moscow between famous English teams is an excellent example of an event to build on.
Those not going to the match will still be interested to read items from such a point of view as Natalia's.
My opinion is your site is an excellent place to promote such matters.

Hi again,
Re the photographs and article by Natalia, and what can be done about such possibilities.

I think you underestimate how British are intrigued and interested in Russia as it emerges.
Even Russian pop music has points of interest to Brits in the music world because Russians use particular harmonies and phrases we have not heard before.

An image problem is the way our western news media is only interested in the Newly Rich Russians and their peculiar lifestyle, therefore that is what we are told about.... Such nonsense is ignored or dismissed as tasteless, by ordinary Brits.
We do not admire ostentatious displays of wealth, whatever the nationality.

But there is genuine interest in more ordinary matters, with ordinary people going about their ordinary lives..
The upcoming football contest is a good example and opportunity for giving out genuine information for ordinary people....
There will be thousands of Brits visiting for this occasion. They, their families and friends will be watching events with great interest.

That will lead to other interesting possibilities and opportunities for sites such as yours which can supply their demand for information and answer their questions.

Above all many will read good simple articles. Personal photographs will always improve their attraction. They will be more authentic if they are not too 'arty.'
Good snapshots taken close-up work well. Filling the frame usually works.
Take care not to shoot too far away and not into the sun.

We have historically looked beyond our horizons, with a long history of exploration, travel and interest in other places.
There is a history of good connections between people in UK and Russians.
I am sure there are many stories to tell and occasions to remember.

I am sure this trend could benefit your site. It is there now at this moment.

John,  Kent
